FreshCatch — B2B Seafood Coordination
A high-performance B2B coordination platform designed to shatter information asymmetry and unbundle exploitative middlemen. Recognized for its technical "Deployed Reality," this system connects logistics-equipped wholesale buyers directly with fisherman forecasts.
01. The Problem
The seafood supply chain is plagued by price opacity and unreliable coordination. Fishermen often sell to exploitative middlemen (Bagsakan) simply because they lack direct visibility of wholesale demand, while hotels and resorts face uncertainty regarding supply volume and timing.
02. Architecture & Solution
I engineered a "Demand-First" coordination engine where wholesale buyers post specific demands, allowing fishermen to commit before setting sail. The system features a Bayanihan aggregation dashboard to bundle small-catch supply into wholesale blocks and implements a defensible 5% buyer-side coordination fee. The architecture handles post-landing weight adjustments and dynamic fulfillment tracking, validated through direct on-site sessions with the Pasil Market Manager.
03. Impact
Awarded 3rd Place Overall (~85.6 pts) and "Best in Design" at HackUSC 2026. The 10,000+ line codebase was recognized by technical judges from ShiftCare and Skanlog for its architectural depth and operational feasibility.
